{"id":1320,"date":"2020-10-08T06:30:39","date_gmt":"2020-10-08T06:30:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/slaasmb.gov.lk\/?page_id=1320"},"modified":"2025-09-08T06:21:20","modified_gmt":"2025-09-08T06:21:20","slug":"new-director-general-at-slaasmb","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/slaasmb.gov.lk\/ta\/new-director-general-at-slaasmb\/","title":{"rendered":"New DG at SLAASMB assumes duties"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">New Director General at SLAASMB<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/slaasmb.gov.lk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/director.jpg\" width=\"266\" height=\"398\" \/><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Mrs.\r\nAnusha Mohotti has been appointed as the Director General of the Sri Lanka Accounting and Auditing Standards Monitoring\r\nBoard (SLAASMB) with effect from 1 October 2020.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Mrs.\r\nMohotti being the fourth Director General of SLAASMB, has been with SLAASMB for\r\nover 20 years and is well acquainted with its regulatory activities. Prior to\r\nthe appointment, she was the Deputy Director General and has been performing\r\nthe role of Acting Director General.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Her\r\nexperience of over 31 years includes exposure in accounting and auditing in the\r\ncommercial sector as well. Prior to joining SLAASMB she has served as the\r\nFinancial Controller at Carsons Group and has had her experience in auditing at\r\nErnst and Young. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>She\r\nis a Fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka and\r\nthe Chartered Institute of Management Accountants of UK. She holds a Bachelor&#8217;s\r\ndegree in Business Administration from the University of Colombo and a Masters\u2019\r\ndegree in Business Administration from the University of Leicester. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>SLAASMB\r\nestablished under Act No. 15 of 1995 is the sole authority in the country\r\nvested with the regulatory power to monitor the financial statements of\r\neconomically significant entities to identify violations of compliance with Sri\r\nLanka Accounting Standards and the sole authority empowered to inspect the work\r\nof the auditors in the country. <\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>New Director General at SLAASMB Mrs. Anusha Mohotti has been appointed as the Director General of the Sri Lanka Accounting and Auditing Standards Monitoring Board (SLAASMB) with effect from 1 October 2020.
